Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you take walk-in appointments?

Presently we are only able to schedule client appointments in advance.

  • How much time is needed to complete my order?

    Couture:

We prefer a lead time of 9-18 months, depending on the complexity of your vision. These gowns are essentially prototypes. As such, the design, sourcing, patternmaking, construction, embellishment, and fitting process is intensive and demanding. Your partnership and availability are essential.

    Collection / Made-to-Measure:

Ordering at least 6 months before your wedding gives us adequate time to make your gown and schedule your fittings. However, brides who schedule further in advance will have more flexibility if design customizations are requested.

    Alterations:

Contacting us shortly after ordering your gown will ensure your space on our schedule. Your fittings will commence two months prior to your event.

  • How can I be prepared for my fittings?

You will need 2 very important items for your first fitting:

    1. Your wedding shoes:

Heel height determines the correct length of your dress, and the placement of your hem.

    2. Your wedding foundation garments

Foundation garments (bra, Spanx, control-top pantyhose, corset, etc.), while not required, can be a great tool for obtaining a smooth silhouette. If you plan to wear any foundation garments, we must have them at time of first fit.

Without these items, accurate measurements and fit cannot be achieved, and you may need more fittings at an additional cost.

  • How many fittings will I need?

For Couture gowns, expect between 4-6 fittings. Alterations and Made-to-Measure require between 2-3 fittings. If you are purchasing via mail, there is no fitting process.

  • Rush Orders?

Our mission is to meet the haute product quality and service expectations of our client. To ensure this, we create a limited number of gowns and are not able to accommodate rush orders for bespoke gowns.

While we are happy to complete rush orders for alteration services, please remember that an adequate time frame always allows for a more relaxed experience.

We offer 6 week, 4 week, and 3 week rush scheduling options.

  • My weight will change before my wedding?

For bespoke gowns, you may lose weight on a case-by-case basis. We will discuss your intentions t your initial consultation and establish a deadline for your weight loss.

For alterations, please keep a consistent weight from time of first fitting until your wedding. Most likely, your gown has been ordered to take in (letting a gown out is more problematic than taking it in, if it is possible at all). If you wish to lose weight, you will need to schedule your fittings closer to your wedding date. If your weight loss will be substantial, please consider a rush alterations schedule.

  • I’m pregnant or post-partum?

First of all, congratulations on a beautiful new addition to your family! If you are pregnant or post-partum, we understand that you have less control of your figure than usual. In this instance, we strongly recommend a rush alteration so that we can capture your shape as close to your wedding as possible.

If you are a nursing mother, it is imperative that you express just prior to your fitting so that we can acheive an accurate and consistent fit.
